On The Move......Again.

For those of you that don't know yet, Allan tracked helicopters for the next phase of flight school! So, that means we are now moving to Fort Rucker, Alabama!! BEFORE Christmas. We're both VERY excitied about it. Allan, because it is what he wanted to fly. Me, because I will be 15 minutes away from REAL shopping!!!! There's a Target and a Bed, Bath, & Beyond!! Wooohooooo!!!! (I think the other wives here are jealous!!)

We will miss all of our great friends here, but there is always a chance of running into them again in the future. One of Allan's friends from the Academy is out at Rucker and is in the class ahead of him, so we know at least one person there already. We also found out that our neighbor from Tinker (OK) is out there too.

Here are a few pics from the track.....

The Patches..."B" flight, the class, & "E" flight.

Allan hearing the selection...

All done!!

Us afterwards!! Think we're happy??

This is for you Daddy!!

Ok..so ya know it's bad when my DAD notices that I haven't posted for awhile!! Ooppss! Oh, well.

So, the latest from Del Mexico is......

Allan is about halfway through Formation . He's been flying 10 feet away from another plane!! Kinda scary. It IS kinda cool when us wives see planes in form, we know that they are some of "our" guys. Maybe not our hubby's, but our friends. Track is getting closer, it's only a month away now. Eek!! Not sure when Allan has to turn in his "wish list". Probably soon though.

I just started working at the Day Care Center on base. So that makes for job #3 for me! It's been interesting so far. I've only been there a week though. The nice thing is, is that I'm in the gov't system, which will make it easier for me to get a job on our next base.

For Thanksgiving, we're going to be in San Antonio for our friends, Jon & Alicia, wedding. She was one of my bridesmaids and I'm her Matron-of-Honor. It's going to be a blast, and we are ALL going to be together for the first time since our wedding.

That's about it from down here. I'm ready for some fall weather!! We keep getting teased with it, but I'm wearing shorts today! Enough already!!!

Another Month, Another Post

I know, I know....yet another month has gone by without a post. My bad.

On the training front: Allan is now more than halfway through T-6's. I think he has a few instrument flights and then Formation left to do. But, don't hold me to that! He should be landing very shortly from his cross-country flight this past weekend. The flightplans changed about 20 times (a shocker, I know) but he ultimately ended up going out to Pensacola, FL then back here via Ft. Worth on Monday night. While in Florida, he ran into our friend Chuckie in a random bar. I'm not sure who was more surprised, as Chuck is currently stationed in South Carolina. I'm sure much fun was had by both. Allan got to meet our new nephew Caleb, who was born in June, while in Ft. Worth. He also got to eat at Joe T. Garcia's (I'm soooo jealous!) with our families. All in all it sounded like he had a good time. He tracks in 2 months!!!

I've been working at B&BW and subbing some. While Allan was flying all over the place, I went to San Antonio with friends. We went to Six Flags and had a great time!! I was more excited by the fact that I got to go shopping at a Target while waiting to meet up with everyone!!

That's about all from down in Del Rio!

Time to catch up!!

Once again, it has been a few weeks since I last updated. Alot has happened since then. Allan soloed, I went to Boston & Vermont, I've been working like crazy, and Allan had his first check ride.

First up- Allan's solo. It went well (from what I heard). I was upset to miss it, but Meghan was able to be there to take pictures for me. Thanks Meghan!! Allan was thrown into the Pogo tank after his flight. It's a tradition to do that, and alot of the guys in his class were there to "help" out. I personally wouldn't want to go into that water, but who am I to question tradition?

Allan also had his first "checkride" last Friday. It's a flight where you get graded on everything you do, and you must meet a certain level of proficency. He got a 10G (that's good, average is 14-15G). It means that he only got marked off on 10 different things out of about 30. He is also mid-phase now. Which means he is halfway through this portion of training!!! We'll find out the second week of December what he will be flying next. We'll know the exact date when it gets a little bit closer.

As for me, I went to Boston the end of August for Alicia's bridal shower. Also, that same weekend, my maid-of-honor, Leslie, got married. They only announced that they were getting married 2 weeks prior. They were going to just get married in Mexico, but didn't want to deal with the legal hassles, so they did it before they left. So...that meant that I wasn't able to go. But Leslie understood. While in Boston, we went to the Ben & Jerry's factory, Fenway (didn't get to see a game), the Sam Adams Brewery, Quincy Market, and of course, Harvard. I had a blast and it was great being in cooler weather!! I've been putting in alot of hours at work recently. After I got back from Boston, I worked 11 days straight. I guess that's what I get for taking time off!!

We had a TON of rain recently too. I thought that we were gonna have to build an ark!

Here are a few pics. Check out our album page to see all of them!

Solo?!?!

Well...Allan is schedule to solo *sometime* this week. The date has changed 3-4 times due to the bad weather that we've been having. It looks likes, as of now, he's going to solo on Thurs. Which sucks (for me)....that's the day that I'm flying to Boston for Alicia's wedding shower. It's not a "Big Deal" kinda thing to miss, just something that I wanted to see. So, I'm a little bummed....but, that's life in the Air Force, what can I do. I'm sure that there will be more stuff down the road that will get missed out on. :-(

Work is going well for me. I'm enjoying it and I really like my co-workers. I'm still waiting to hear back form the schools though.

That's about it from down here. I'll post after Allan solos and any pics, if there are any!

Long time no post...

Hi all! I just realized that I haven't posted in alomost 2 weeks!! Well....let see, what's happened since then. Allan got has "dollar ride" on Friday. That's his first flight in the T-6. It went well ans he got to land it twice! His sims are going great too! He's gotten excellent ratings on all of them so far.

I was offered a job at Bath & Body Works. I'm still waiting to hear back from the school district though. I'm going to start sometime this week. The pay isn't great, but it will get me out of the house...

100!!

Allan got his first 100 on a test!!!! I'm very excited, if you can't tell. He starts sim training tomorrow. And then it's busy, busy, busy for him. I have a job interview at Bath & Body Works on Saturday. The hospital here isn't hiring (at least MY position), and I kinda wanted to do something different. i do have my application in at the school district for a couple of aide postions. Haven't heard anything back on that yet.

Other than that....nothing new here....

First Anniversary!!

Monday marked our 1st Anniversary!! Hard to believe that a year has gone by already! We went out to dinner to celebrate on Tuesday, instead of Monday, because Allan had a HUGE test Tues. afternoon. So we held a study group/burger burn Mon night. We did eat our cake that Susan sent down to us. Surprisingly, it tasted pretty good!!! I was kind of shocked! Allan did great on his test (only missed 2), then we went out to the only italian restraunt in town. Here are some of the pictures we took with the cake...

Allan will be hitting the flight line in 3 weeks!!! I know he's looking forward to it. I'm not sure how I feel....

Finally Friday!!

WOW!!! What a busy week! Allan had his first "major" test on Wed. He passed (naturally). And for those of you that don't know, our nephew Caleb arrived on Thur. Then today, I got to go down to the flight simulators with the other wives in our class. That was pretty fun!!! It's like a video game on steroids! I was able to buzz the tower, do a couple of rolls, and take-off and land successfully!! I was quite proud of myself.

Welcome!!

Hello everyone!! Thought that we would branch out and get our own blog as a way to try to keep up with our family and friends, as well as a good way for y'all to keep up with us. I'll try to update *at least* once a week, but can't make any promises! Feel free to leave comments, we'll respond by email, or back in the comments. I'm also working on getting an online photo album up and running. You can go to... www.picasaweb.google.com/allan.sain to view them. Right now, there are some parachute training pics, and some house pics. I will be adding to those as well, and will try to post an update here when I do. Enjoy!

Love you all & miss you more!!
